Is this for me? Are you a young entrepreneur who has just had his/her first successful exit? Or maybe you are a Senior VP at a publicly-traded company and you are starting to cash in on your options? Or perhaps someone from the service industry on the heels of a few successful deals? Or maybe just someone whos recently had some good fortune in the stock market? If so, then the Tmura Matching Grants Initiative is DEFINITELY for you. You know what it means to leverage your investment. Well, we are in a similar business. In order to encourage new philanthropists to get in the game, we are offering you an opportunity to leverage your first-ever significant "social investment." If you are prepared to make your first grant of at least NIS 100,000 to an Israeli non-profit organization, we encourage you to apply to our program for a matching grant. If your application is accepted, your NIS 100,000 donation can be doubled to NIS 200,000, thanks to the generosity of Tmura's partner foundation. Background Tmura is a non-profit organization established in early 2002 by the Israeli venture capital community in order to share the wealth being generated in the high-technology industry with broader sectors of Israeli society, and to help develop a culture of giving within this important sector of the economy. One way Tmura achieves this objective is by soliciting donations of options from young high-tech companies, and when some of these companies either go public or are acquired, Tmura donates the proceeds from the sale of its shares, to education- and youth-related charities in Israel. Matching Grants Initiative The goal of the Tmura Matching Grants Initiative is likewise to encourage new philanthropy in Israel; however, utilizing a different model. Tmura, in partnership with a US charitable foundation, has created a dedicated $500,000 fund which will be used to match cash grants of NIS 100,000 NIS 200,000 from members of Israels high-tech and venture capital communities who are making their first significant cash contribution to charitable causes in Israel. For details, please read the Frequently Asked Questions and Eligibility document. To apply for matching grants, please submit the following materials. * Tmura would like to acknowledge the assistance of the Jewish Funders Network in designing the details of this initiative. |
